booka shade are set to release crossing borders featuring fritz kalkbrenner from their 2013 album eve on embassy one / blaufield music. booka shade first met fritz when he asked them to remix one of his songs, as we are fans of his voice, we thought it would be a great idea if he would sing a vocal for one of our demos for the new album. he came to our studio with the lyrics of crossing borders and within 1 hour, the song was recorded. crossing borders is enriched with acoustic and chilling electronic tones and demonstrates the trials and tribulations of the every day struggle weve got to go on, even if we stray, crossing borders to another side

a few words by steffen bennemann: i was in loose contact with aggelos (dream weapons) for a few years, watching him from a distant with great interest. in 2012, he sent me his debut lp on inner ear under his fantastikoi hxoi moniker and it quickly became my favourite album of the year. when i told him our plans for holger he sent me some of his more electronic leaning music. i was instantly captured by the driving, trippy kraut techno songs which show homage to the psychedelic sounds of the 60s and 70s while holding their own in the here and now. exactly our cup of tea.

compass point, muscle shoals, sun studios, studio one, cargo studios, spaceward studios : all seminal recording studios. here in glasgow we are very fortunate to have green door studio which is a free thinking hub for wild, original creativity and great sounding analogue recordings.

willie griffins boo williams alias returns to goldmin music for the labels most recent release. a vinyl affair, the living waters ep sees the chicago native at his very best, as he combines his customary, old-school, rough-and-ready approach with a newfound approach. the end result is an ep that brilliantly encapsulates all that is great about the label and the artist - as they look to the future but also nod approvingly in the direction of the past.

robosonic has been a pivotal part of off recordings roster, their releases being highly expected every time and usually meaning instant dancefloor melting magic. with a hip hop and techno background and adding many frequent flyer miles with worldwide gig schedule, the pair shows no sign of stopping. this time is no exception, cord and sacha get back in their creative roll of sample wizardry to provide two mouth watering jams. they once again prove their love for organic sounds and reivindicate the use of the turntable as an instrument, adding that old-school vibe to their trademark beats. macho madness is quite a trip, sweet rhodes over a bouncy bassline, great sample work adding guitars and an insane speech. as always, breakdowns are intense and its impossible not to dance to the groove!for the second track, robosonic joins another off family team, mat.joe and together they go deep into their hip hop influences again working the samples as only they could, a little disco flavor, a driving bass...all the ingredients are there for another instant classic and a respectful shout out to detroit producer legend j dilla, who left the game too early. r.i.p!

2020 repress! vril is still a relatively little known artist but already he has some great accolades to his name: he has released a couple of great eps on giegling sub.

this young serbian producer was already introduced on keno records 15 with his great fargo remix. on his first solo release he show us his full potential and his ability to produce epic bassline driven deep house tracks that really stand out. jaxson & david keno are crashing the party and move >i can t go on< into a complete different direction. nice mixture again.

zex model is the project (started in september 2012) of paul von aphid, a young russian musician who re-imagining and re-modeling the classic sound of 80s wax trax and antlers bands, by adding a personal twist of his own experience living in urban dystopia.
